Records & Research
No public record could be confirmed for Anne Iversdater, reportedly born 12 April 1834 in Norway, daughter of Iver Olsen (b. 1801) and Ragnhild Knutsdater (1801-1875). Multiple searches across FamilySearch, Geni, WikiTree, Digitalarkivet, and FindAGrave returned only same-name individuals from different families, periods, or places. The single 1834-born candidate located (Anne Knutsdatter Krogsrudvangen, FamilySearch K4B8-444) was verified (page fetched during audit) and correctly rejected: she was born 27 September 1834 in Nord-Odal, Hedmark, to Knut Knutsen Krogsrud and Kari Hansdatter Bunes, married Martinius Isachsen Nylenda (1860), and is a different woman on every anchor. Nothing beyond the 2006 family report could be established. No findings overclaimed; the dossier is a clean negative result.
No additional public records have been confirmed yet — only what the family report records.
Open questions (5)
- No birthplace is recorded in the report. Without a parish/farm, the very common name Anne Iversdatter (patronymic for any father named Iver) cannot be safely disambiguated among many 1830s Norwegian women of that name. A birthplace (county/parish) is the key missing anchor.
- A FamilySearch entry, Anne Knutsdatter Krogsrudvangen (ID K4B8-444), is born in 1834 and was the only close-year candidate, but it is NOT this person: audit confirmed she was born 27 September 1834 in Nord-Odal, Hedmark (vs report's 12 April 1834), her father was Knut Knutsen Krogsrud (vs Iver Olsen), her mother was Kari Hansdatter Bunes (vs Ragnhild Knutsdater), and she married Martinius Isachsen Nylenda in 1860 with five children of her own. Rejected as same-name-different-person on every anchor.
- The parents Iver Olsen (b. 1801) and Ragnhild Knutsdater (1801-1875) could not be located as a couple in any indexed source; no household with a daughter Anne born 1834 was found. Note Ragnhild's maiden patronymic (Knutsdatter) coincidentally matches the patronymic of the rejected candidate, which may have caused the search engines to surface that false lead.
- If the family emigrated, the surname may appear Americanized (Paulsen/Paulson per the archive's naming note); no emigration/ship-manifest record tying an Anne Iversdatter b.1834 with these parents was found.
- A targeted Digitalarkivet (Norwegian National Archives) search of the 1865 and 1875 censuses for Ragnhild Knutsdater (b.~1801, d.1875) married to an Iver Olsen, ideally constrained by county, would be the most promising next step to locate the household and confirm a daughter Anne.
